In the beginning of 2018, Frank & I moved to Ankeveen and what a great decision that was. We now live near many lakes and rivers and we can start paddling from home. We met with some clubs nearby and we decided to offer our assistance when they are overcrowded or when they like to offer classes like SUPbootcamp, SUPbalance or SUPfitness.
What a wonderful summer it was. Me and my boyfriend Frank set up SUP classes with SUP Center Amsterdam. We experimented with different formats: beginners classes, private classes, tours, fitness classes… all on a SUP board. And we had a great time. The weather could have been better, but we met a lot of people and had great fun.
I’ve tried out many things: kayak, kite surf, ski … But one stuck with me: SUP or Stand Up Paddle boarding. I tried it both at sea as on flat water and I’m only fan of the flat water SUP. I have my own inflatable board, which is always in my trunk, so wherever I go, I can decide to just take it out for a tour.
Every week another choreo, exercises and another short movie! It’s just so much fun giving step, bodyshape and aerobic dance at Ben Rietdijk Sport & Fitness Aalsmeer. And to share that fun, I try to make a little wrap-up of the week. Check out the movies on facebook or youtube.
How I missed it… DANCE! In the month May, you are all welcome to join the new class in Ben Rietdijk Sport Nieuw-Vennep: Aerobic Dance. If we feel that there is enough interest, the class gets a fixed spot on the schedule. Dance, work-out and enjoy the party. Here’s a little teaser… some footage of the first class.
I’ve been freelancing for more than a year, I like the change. I told everyone: no weekly classes for me anymore. But never say never… There are only just a few opportunities to give advanced freestyle step and when they offered me two evenings of teaching this, to a bunch of overexcited step fanatics… I could not refuse!
On the 20th of December, Health Club Fit2Move supports 3FM Serious Request. That’s the perfect occasion for me to return to my favorite gym and give a good old fashioned TRIPLE DANCE class.
What a party it was! The event was sold out (75 fanatics in just a regular class room!), our creativity was running high and we made the 10th anniversary of Freaky Friday a memorable evening!
They’re scarce, the aerobic conventions in the Netherlands and Belgium. One big event remains: the Solid Sound Convention. In September 2014 we celebrated it’s 25th birthday. And as always: big fun!
Thank you IFA for the experience. It wasn’t my best show, but I did take away a lot. I knew I had to participate in the competition even though I wasn’t sure yet and it was a very busy time. This was a great opportunity… and experience.
All information is complete: time schedule, location, presenters, contest… Who’s joining me to enjoy IFA Rome September?
Click on the pictures here to find out all about the date, location, time schedule, presenters and more. And note in your calendar: Satruday 21st of September 17:00h: IFA NEW TALENT COMPETITON. I’m taking my chances, fingers crossed 🙂 FOr more information, check the IFA Convention Facebook page.
Henri de Haas and Anke Derks are organizing the 10th edition of Freaky Friday on the 7th of November 2014! The line-up is:
- Janneke Bakker & Anke Derks: a top AALO presenter team at work
- Lars Schuijling: the master
- Capucine Merlin & myself: AALO Rookie presenters 2014 & 2013 or Holland meets Belgium 😉
Inspired by the AEROBIC/STEP Master of Holland, Lars Schuijling, #Larz, who filmed how he creates a step/dance class: get out and just find whatever spot you can try, move, dance. Park, parking lot, beach… it can be all places. What’s your creative spot, how do you create your step/dance class, where do you find your inspiration? Let’s share and just make each other SMILE.
One love = STEP … or DANCE or AEROBIC 😉
Today we officialy release the “IMsport MOVIE” 🙂
Happiness only real when shared is one of my favorite quotes. So let me share my dreams, inspiration and happiness with you in this short movie. These are only just a few of the great memories to #IMsport and I just hope that the best is yet to come!
During the IFA aerobic convention in Rome 3-4 May of 2014, a jury of international presenters judged the participants on their technique, their ability to quickly pick up a new choreography, their expression and more. They selected the 3 best of that day and 14 instructors who can compete in the IFA New Talent Competition in September of 2014. And… I’m one of them!
In Benelux, there are only a few aerobic conventions left with a competitive offer of freestyle classes: Solid Sound Convention, Elements of Fitness, Freaky Events and Fitelit. That’s about it, isn’t it? Luckily, when you spread your wings and have a look across the borders, there are still many aerobic conventions worth visiting! One of them is the Italian IFA convention in Rome… IMsport was there!
I was happy and proud to pass the title of AALO Rookie of the year to Capucine Merlin! For the third year in a row a Belgian female instructor wins the AALO Rookie Competition: Mirella Iacutone (2011), me (2013) and Capucine in 2014!
What an honour it was to give a duo class with Janneke Bakker. Janneke is known for her well prepared classes, personalized music mixes and warm personality! We joined our energy for even more FUN, POWER and LOVE! In thé hottest place for step fanatics: Snowworld Fitness Zoetermeer!
Step Symphonica Special at The Crunch in Amsterdam on Sunday 8th of December, 2013. In a 75-minutes workout together with Nico Dezaire on the electric violin. What a party!
As I am always eager to learn, I did the Piloxing training and as of now I can give Piloxing® classes as well!
PILOXING® blends the power, speed and agility of boxing with the targeted sculpting and flexibility of pilates to burn maximum calories, build lean muscles, and increase stamina. These techniques are also supplemented by the use of weighted gloves, further toning the arms and maximizing cardiovascular health.
A once in a lifetime experience… although it tastes for more! By winning AALO Rookie 2013, I was offered the chance to give a step workout at Solid Sound Convention edition september 2013. I wanted to give my all and I can say: I’ve done it. But not alone: with the help of Nico Dezaire and the support of many people!
On Sunday the 22th of September, I was invited to give retro aerobic for Bronks theatre!
I’m most frequently asked to give sport classes in gyms, the regular Zumba or Step classes one follows to work out. But once in a while, I get some special requests. Like giving a whole day of dance workouts for the Center Parcs employees or now: a mixture of street theatre and aerobic classes!
Freaky Sunday is the perfect title for this step, aerobic & dance event. The Juin 2013 edition had step, Ragga and GRIT on the program. 4 hours of fun & workout and one of my first performances as a Rookie Presenter!
I was asked to give a ‘Mystery Step’. This got my creative brain running and I came up with a festival workout based on the MysteryLand hype. Complete with posters, flyers, festival bags, MysteryLand dj sounds and a creative step workout (step turned to the front), it was a great PARTY!!
International aerobics, dance & fitness convention in Leiden!
Presenters who want to share their creativity, energy and skills with both instructors and sport consumers. And an incredible line-up: Min Hee Bervoets (The Ultimate Dance Battle & So You Think You Can Dance), Lars Schuijling, Tim Broekhoven, David Van De Velde, Aneudi Cabral, Maaike and Biance Karel, Nathalie van Deventer and the event organizer himself: Danny Rust.
Watch this! Our first Triple Dance video! Part 1-2-3 of our Streetdance choreo. Feeling so proud of my ‘Triple Dance crew’ at Health Club Fit2Move.
It’s great fun those mini conventions. Small group, medium-advanced classes, lots of fun! Only a week after having given all on AALO Rookie 2013, I was happy to just follow the classes and enjoy. HiLo from Anke Derks, Steps from Lars Schuijling and Steps from Henri de Haas. Not to difficult, energizing music and positive athmosphere… Together with Romy, Frederike, Paula, Annette, Eline, Bas and Laura it became a very freaky Sunday!
November 2012 I won the AALO Presenter Prize, with this I got selected to participate in the AALO Rookie 2013 contest. This is the most important contest in the Netherlands and Belgium for new aerobic and step instructors. The contest took place on the 27th of January, 2013… I won!
This makes me the AALO Rookie 2013. The adventure has only just begun…
Want Ilse is nu de Rookie of the year!
Sunday 26th of November, 2012, the first half of our Master Step group gave their exam classes. Among them was Roxanne Reebergen, my dear colleague. She gave an exciting and very good class. Want to see how she did? Here’s a video of her final!
I love a good aerobic/step convention, even if my schedule is very busy. Saturday 25th of November 2012 I joined the three step classes at Feel The Motion (SnowWorld, Zoetermeer, NL). It started with a jazzy step from Aneudi Cabral and live music by Lars Schuijling. A nice start of the afternoon. The best class according me was the assymetrical-symetrical step by Lucciano Mottola (Italy). And offcourse the most advanced class was the one by Lars Schuijling. As always in SnowWorld, it was a lot of fun!
In 2012 we organised the first edition of Super Sunday MEGA RELEASE at Fit2Move. On 7th of October, 2012 we did it all over again!
A big stage, professional lightening-sound-and more, many talented and enthusiast instructors and more than 150 participants: it was a great day! Thanks to the whole team for there efforts, to our partners for a smooth cooperation and to all participants for giving us all they had and more.
After taking a break and recharging my batteries in Corsica, I came back with new energy and inspiration. Are you ready to dance, dance, triple dance? Join me and my friends Mondays 21:00 h and Wednesday 18:00 h at Health Club Fit2Move (www.fit2move.nl). We are going to have FUN, FUN, FUN and dance all night long!!
Inspired and energized by Feel The Motion
I just love aerobic conventions, it’s a whole day of dancing, the most complicated choreo’s by the best presenters. Frederike recommended this convention and I am gratefull that she did. We started at 12:00 and ended at 18:00 without a break! As usual, I was so focused on dancing that I forgot to eat. Some cereal bars and Redbulls, the right music and flow got me through it. And like the photographers told me repeatedly, I smiled the whole 6 hours. My body ached after it, but in my head the party just went on and on. Thx Lars Schuijling, Nanda Groen, Fitzroy Gaynes and Miralla Iacatune for a very good time! Find the Feel The Motion FB page here.
Christmas madness on Boxing Day @ Fit2Move
On Boxing Day 2011 we organized some special groupfitness classes at Fit2Move. I gave Xmas Bodypump, Power Step, an introduction to the new dance workout: Triple Dance and because of the many interest an extra class of Sh’Bam & Zumba. In the spinning class, Ed & Marga gave an Xmas Spinning class and Erik took the runners out into the forest, for a nice run. It was definitely a HOLIDAY!
It’s fun working at Fit2Move. All groupfitness instructors are very passionate about teaching. So when someone suggested to organize a mega groupfitness event, we were all in immediately. We normally can only allow 25 participants per class, now our goal was to invite 100 participants per class. And we succeeded. It was great fun: 3-5 teachers on the stage, 5 classes, more than 100 participants, a famous musical singer/dancer and some activities for the kids and rest of the family.
When Michael Jackson died, there was much to do about his songs, dances and shows. Many Bodyjam participants asked me if I could teach some Michael Jackson routines. I found it a nice challenge and the classes were a big success.
Another great Fit2Move event: Fit2Beach. Talking about the high temperatures and how we should better take the party outside, we came up with the idea to organize some outdoor groupfitness classes. Irma and Ed gave spinning classes and Lynette and I gave Zumba and Bodyjam classes on the parking lot in front of the club. We felt like dancing on the beach!
My first dance event to organize was an instant success. Together with a friend and as an assignment for her school, we organized a local dance event. We called it ‘Dansrillingen’ what means as much as the happy feeling you get by dancing. We gave 5 dance classes with very specific themes: Afro, Latin, Modern, Jazz and Hip-Hop. We started the day with a personal story, decorated the gym in the themes, asked everyone to dress according to the themes and expressed the themes in music-choreography-teaching.
